Killing the Messenger: A Story of Radical Faith, Racism's Backlash, and the Assassination of a Journalist by Thomas Peele
This in-depth book gives a good history of the Bey family and their effects in Oakland. It also reveals much of Chauncey Bailey's professional background. Sometimes, it was a little too bogged down in the details, but overall interesting and a good read.
