The Road to Mayerling: Life and Death of Crown Prince Rudolph of Austria, by Richard Barkeley 21 July 1973) I decided to read this because of reading on Sep 18, 1971, The Mayerling Murder, by Victor Wolfson, in which the author said this was one of the most useful books on the event. But it is superficial and biased toward Rudolph. He says Rudolph shot Marie Vetsera and then some hours later killed himself.
