Reviews
A very detailed study of the life of the German Composer. Very serious effort was made to place the man in the context of his time. There are bits the non-musician finds a little slow, but the effort is rewarded. there are more concise biographies of the man, but like Martin Gilbert's life of Winston S. Churchill (9 volumes) when one is done, you have a lifetime of factoids to drop on the unwary.
