- Isa Belli Barsali was an art historian who taught at the University of Cassino and the University of Rome. Among her specialties was the study and promotion of the villas of Italy. She served as chairwoman of the Committee for the Study of Historical Gardens for the Italian Ministry of Culture. Her books included Medieval Goldsmith's Work (1969), European Enamels (1969), Villas of Rome (1970), and Villas and Patrons of the State of Lucca.
