Power. The pure plain power of God's Holy Word explained and drawn forth by one of the New England church fathers. One of the few books that will stay with me for life.
Puritan Bookshelf 32 CD Set
Discontinued as of December 7, 2004, although they are still available in the used book trade. Index to set is on CD #32.
"Volume One contains twenty-two books, seventeen of which were written by Puritans and Covenanters of the 16th and 17th centuries.
"From John Arrowsmith's extensive treatment of John 1:1-18, to John Trapp's phrase by phrase commentary on Matthew, this CD is a treasurehouse of knowledge from some of the best minds of the Reformation.
"I show more especially appreciate William Gouge's convicting sermon in 'A Recovery From Apostacy,' which concerns a certain contemporary prodigal son, and the subsequent receiving of this 'penitent renegado' into the Church. He then makes an excellent, thorough application of Luke 15:31 to the church, and to believers individually.
"I also appreciate Gouge's clear, simple writing style in his 'Exposition on the Whole Fifth Chapter of John, etc.' Here he expounds on such varied topics as the flood (Gen. 7), marriage (Eph. 5), genuine salvation versus self-deception (Ps. 30), and putting on the whole armour of God (Eph. 6).
"This is but a small taste of what is available on these CDs. Tremendous value and a wealth of wisdom and biblical instruction are packed into every CD. If you're interested in reformed theology, this is a great way to get an extensive library of books, lectures and sermons, for very little expense." -- Reader's Comment
