Ok so this is maybe my 5th book that I have read with Missy, Chas, Echo, Kel and Spencer. I have not read all of the Frosted Love series in order but I did like that I could get a summary of all of the players. What I also liked as well was that the title had nothing at all to do with the story. However can I say that I am in LOVE with Spencer. Mainly because he is very mysterious. I have no idea what is going on with him and Janssen but all I can say is that I can't wait to find out. I mean show more there is something further going on and there is a mission but that is what makes it so suspenseful to me and of course I want to read more about this deep dark secret.
I did also like the reference to Kel reading his Summer Prescott mysteries. That had me laughing out loud at the though. I was surprised to see who the killer really was. I mean I knew Muffy had something to do with it and of course it had to do with the cars and their value but the connection and how Missy was hiding in the closet did have me scared.
I just can't wait for the next book to come out. I am not sure how I am picturing Spencer but in my mind, he is a shy skillful marine but very loyal and would do anything to protect his family. I am in love with this new series and can't wait to read more. show less

This was a bonechilling story, I rather enjoyed it, despite its grotesque content.
This is Ed Gein in a female form, and if you haven't heard about that serial killer, he is worth looking into.
I have always had a fascination with serial killers. And while I am not the type to have a "crush" on them, write them in jail, collect prison drawings etc- I will still research each one with a pulsing need and fascination to discover exactly how and when shit went wrong in their head.
I enjoy show more reading them in fictional form as well, and I kind of like getting into their head and viewing the world through a psychopaths eyes is always enthralling. Strange since I have been an empath for as long as I can remember, and still this exposure I throw upon myself does not numb my empathetic feelings.
Anyway, enough about me and my "strange hobbies", my strange hobbies are considered boring compared to Susanah's, That is one sick demented woman, I think her and Ed would have got along very well. It was bizarre looking through her eyes at the world, and watching her attempt to act like a normal human was almost funny!
I loved the mortician husband, I think me and him would be best friends IRL. Introverted, clinical, clever, extreme intelligence and attention to detail. He was a delightful character and I enjoyed him. I have always wished I had a stronger willpower and an iron stomach so I could also be a mortician as it is so gothically charged and actually beautiful to prepare loved ones to be viewed.
This story has many of surprises thrown in to throw you off, which is why I rated this so high. I love that I was not able to predict this story within the first half of the book.
I would read more from this author for sure! show less

Melissa Gladstone-Beckett owns Cupcakes in Paradise and created "Luck O' the Irish" cupcakes for the elementary school festival and the popularity of the luscious treats has instigated orders for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The bakery is located in Calgon, Florida, aside Beach House B&B, owned with her husband, Detective Chas Beckett. In asking his wife if he can help when Melissa says she has a lot on her mind, Chas suggests a getaway with friends to upstate New York, not realizing show more that he'll soon be in the midst of a case outside his jurisdiction.
I loved the detective taking time away when there were no recent homicide cases to investigate in Calgon. The mystery and intrigue of the familial connection of the setting, a charity event, and friendship links enhanced the red herrings. I was quite surprised by the reveal. There's also an intriguing secret yet to unfold by a character who already seemed a man of mystery, and my curiosity is on hold for future developments.
Culinary cozy readers will not find a specific recipe, but they can easily use the mouth-watering description in Chapter 1 to create delectable cupcake treats for holiday celebrations or any time a bit of luck and celebration is shared with family and friends.
Thank you to Summer Prescott for an Amazon gift card win from a recent newsletter giveaway. This cozy was on my tbr list. I was captivated by the series title, "The INNcredibly Sweet Series," as I liked the clever highlighting of turning incredibly to INNcredibly. I wondered about the journalistic questions of who, what, where, when, why, and how of the inn. In addition, how can one pass a cover with shamrocks and a title with Irish Crème before St. Patrick's Day or any time of the year?
Reviewer's Note: As I was already intrigued by the cover, I only read the blurb once I downloaded the cozy. The blurb indicates,

"For those of you who love Missy, Chas, and the rest of the gang in the Frosted Love series, this next chapter in their story…"I can't wait to read more of the series, and I've added the "Frosted Love" series to my tbr. show less
Another winner for Summer Prescott! This was a fun, exciting, fast paced read. This book has you on the edge of your seat with suspense and intrigue.
Again the whole gang is in full swing, Missy, Chas, Echo, Kel, Maggie, Spencer, Fiona, and a new comer Tim. Tim is the quirky owner of the local mortuary. Chas is trying to talk him into becoming the new M.E. for Calgon. Janssen is also back always around to help Spencer but keeping his distance from everyone. I am very curious to see how show more Janssen plays out being so mysterious and elusive.
The B&B has been taken over by a horror writer named Izzy Gillmore. She just wants peace and quiet for time to write her new novel. Things don't quite work out like she wanted. She has an obnoxious publisher, Miranda Banks trying to hunt her down, a crazed fan that has been following her and acting out scenes from her books and a handsome Spencer has caught her eye. I am hoping these new characters stay around for awhile. Love the story line going on in this series. Looking forward to book three. show less
