I was excited when I discovered a new book in one of my favorite series. I was invested. This held parts of the charm that the first three books held but it happened so fast. Its the downside of a novella. There was just so much potential to be a great book, if not the best of the series. Still it was nice being back in this world. I love that it feels like a KA novel but done in the Brynne way. Still good. Just really fast.

I'm not afraid to say it, I'm a cover snob. When I saw this cover with shoes and handcuffs I was all in. I'm a girl! I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. In this case, I'm thankful for my cover-loving princess girl for finding this gem.
The characters and family dynamic in this book were amazing. I found myself wanting to be a part of the Carpino family. Add in a hot as hell FBI agent named Jude and a sweet but feisty Accountant/Interior Decorator named Gabrielle and it show more became a great story. These two were like peanut butter and jelly. They were destined to be together.
There was humor, sadness, suspense, and love. I cannot wait to read part two with Tony. show less

5 give me all the memories stars
Holy hell. To say that I had been eagerly waiting for Noah Jarvis would be an understatement. All I can say is that he was WELL worth the wait. I truly loved him before but holy titfire was he delicious.
I love this series of interconnected standalones. Even though they are all separate and the characters do make appearances in each of the other books this book can most definitely be read on its own without it messing up the other stories or being lost in this show more one. I recommend reading them all because these characters and their tumultuous journey to happily ever after are sublime.
Noah and Grace together are everything. Noah is one of the most persistent book boyfriends that I have ever had a chance to read. Yet, he doesn't do it in an aggressive or overly possessive way. Instead, he just remains steadfast while also giving Gracie the time to do the things that she needs to do in order to finally be at a place internally to quit hiding behind the veils. I am really glad that she gave up trying to keep her Noah to just a one-night memory.
This author is always able to create a world that is distinct and rememberable. It helps that her characters are multi-dimensional and heartwarming. I can relate to them in so many ways. Even if I can't on a personable level I still can form a connection and therein lies the beauty of this author. Sweet bantering, unconditional love, and a lot of memories are this book in a nutshell.
Highly recommend this author and this series. show less

This Montgomery family... Each and every single person is special. This author exceeded my expectations. That in itself says a lot because there is a reason that she is on my one-click list.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. A fun uncle battling to destroy his father and a woman from an enemy family seemed like a Hallmark movie. Only, this wasn't a movie. Even with wealth that the Ewings and Carrington families (Dallas and Dynasty For those too young to get my references show more to old 80's drama) would be envious to have, this felt very relatable. The struggles, family secrets, and responsibilities were the same showing that wealth doesn't save a person from addiction, greed, traumas, and betrayal.
I loved Henry. Good lord, did I love him. He didn't have an easy journey and his baggage was heavy. How he loved a little girl like Nora wax beautiful. It was unconditional. Quinn was a breath of fresh air. I think every moment of her life and the things that brought her to this point, from lies to fighting to be imperfect were all for the purpose of being with Henry and Nora. Her ability to traverse the crap that kept coming in all directions was truly remarkable.
I hate that this family is done because I'm really not ready to say goodbye. However, this author did a good job at saving the best for last. show less
