This is a history, lots of names and dates following the roots of dancehall in a pretty literal way. It’s a pretty good read still. I’m always glad someone is documenting these things before they disappear.

I read the PDF version and it had a few typos, misspellings, and just the wrong words sometimes, as well as needing some editing. But not enough to make it not worth it.
