New Zealand has a complex cultural identity that includes Maori and Pakeha identity, post-colonial and feminist identities. This book is a collection of essays that include the colonial legacy, identities of Maori and women, class, speech, education, art and literature, the media, the military tradition, sport, churches and the criminal subculture. The authors of the essay are specialists in their field. This is an interesting read and commentary on Aotearoa and some of the concepts that show more make up a national identity. show less
