No, I'm not having a baby. But I've been fascinated with the meaning of first names ever since I discovered they have meanings, and aren't just an arrangement of sounds and letters shared with others. This dictionary gives the histories, meanings, social significance of more than 10,000 names as well as a list of the top names from 1925 to 1983.

For instance, my first name--a very common one:

Lisa (f) Pet form of Elisabeth (Elizabeth) used as a name in its own right. One of the most popular show more names in all English-speaking countries in the early 1980s, though it was extremely rare until the 1950s. Before that its use was mainly confined to Spain and Germany. Possible that its present popularity was helped by the song Mona Lisa, one of Nat 'King' Cole's great hits. show less

In this book, there are some funny stories.I thought "A Good Match" was the most interesting.Characters are David,a football supporter, and his girlfriend and her family..but the family support a rival team of Davit's.A jork of the end of this story was good.I laughed slightly in my mind. But the other stories were not so good.I wanted to laugh more.

The houses in Newton Road are small, but people are very happy there. Then a civil engineer wants to knikck down the houses and build a new road. The people of Newton Road get very angry. They The people in Newton do a lot of actions to win the battle.

This suggests an usual but serious problem between the people and the goverment or the engineer.I think that it is important to deeply consider its advantages and disadvantages when they construct buildings or build road. Both of them have many show more opinions about construction.I can't decide which side I place nyself. It depends. The most important thing about this problem is that everyone understands about the solution,I think. show less

I enjoyed reading this story because Mike has many points of likeness to me.
Mike is a careless and unhappy person.
However, I respect him not to give up easily.
I wanted to cheer him and read after Mike's story.
