This is a wonderful book-- both in its scientific content, as well as in the empowering message it gives to students. It is written in an easy-to-follow format, bolding vocabulary words, using images to aid in understanding, and providing other helpful text features. The opening chapter is titled, "el cielo no es el límite," which translates to "the sky is not the limit," and it is referencing that the sky is not the limit for WOMEN specifically. I love that this book focuses on empowering show more girls in STEAM areas! It is also a quality informational text, providing facts and interesting information on women from all over the world. The book features women from diverse backgrounds, which is also important to me in a book highlighting real women as role models. I also like that the book features a timeline of women's involvement in space travel, a glossary, and an index.

I would love to use this book as part of a Science lesson covering space, a Social Science lesson discussing the space race/space travel/etc., or as a topic of a research paper. show less
