A mummie is a dead body of human or an animal that has been preserved in one or two ways. The first way a body can be preserved is accidentally, through a natural process such as freezing or drying. The other way is purposely, through a process of combining substances in order to preserve a body.
Throughout the ages, mummies have captured our imaginations. These reminders of cultures from long ago from fareway places fill us with show more wonder. They hold the keys to the past and maybe the future as well.

This place is perfect for mummification because of its very dry climate. There are some parts of this northern region of Chile that have never gotten rain in all of recorded history(See p 21)!

Tut's eyes are printed to look like the eyes of Horus, the Egyptian falcon god(See p 28).

Ancient Egyptian people believed many gods and some pictures are the person who's face is animal. Tut's mummie is the same reason. show less
