I could have read all night & still have begged for more. All the love for this absolutely amazing, darling Gilded Age twist on My Fair Lady! I’m a huge fan of this beloved musical, so when favorite author Gabrielle Meyer said she was writing a book based on it, I couldn’t wait to read it. It was even more magical than I imagined. Did I hum “I Could Have Danced All Night, Wouldn’t it be Lovely, On the Street Where You Live” & other favorites while reading? Yes, yes I did. But, I show more was surprised by how uniquely fresh, romantic, & entertaining To Love a Lady was while still containing familiar elements from the musical.

I loved Keira O’Day! After being plucked out of the dangerous tenements of Five Points, she’s thrust into the ultra rich, competitive world of New York High Society when a wealthy widow sees an opportunity to use her to advance her own social standing. From flower girl & seamstress to heiress, Keira exhibits grace, charm, & surprising loyalty when Mrs. Maude Hill offers to adopt her & then marry her off to an English lord in order to save the family’s hotel business & increase Maude’s social prowess. The only person standing in the way is Maude’s nephew Alexander Paxton-Hill.

I adored Alex! He’s smart, kind, & likes Keira for who she is. Though Maude wants to turn her into Clara Day Hill, Alex prefers calling her Keira. He sees the caring, kind, hardworking person she is. He’s supposed to teach her how to flirt, dance, & perform in Society, but each meeting only increases his attraction towards her. I loved every swoon worthy interaction especially their first waltz & that first kiss. *Sigh* When they arrive in England, the story takes an altogether new turn as Keira discovers the identity of her parents & catches the eye of a mysterious Duke.

Alex’s & Keira’s forbidden romance is filled with passionate kisses, & desperate longing. I wasn’t sure how everything would work out since Alex is caught between a rock & a hard place. But, the happily ever after is even better than I predicted & I loved how both Alex & Keira learn the true meaning of love & faith.

It’s a delightful, engaging, entertaining read that fully captures the spirit of My Fair Lady while being its own unique story. Now I can’t wait to read the next book! Highly recommend. I received an advanced copy from the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are my own & provided voluntarily.

A powerful, heart achingly lovely story of a decades long feud, family secrets, sweeping romance, & a beautiful faith thread all taking place in the wilds of Minnesota from 1863 to 1917. Gabrielle Meyer has a gift for weaving exciting, unputdownable stories with hope filled messages & the Aviator’s Lady is a new favorite. Mistakes from the past haunt future generations, but the redemptive power of faith & forgiveness shine through in this epic historical romance.

In 1917, Cade Bailey show more returns home after his stunt pilot career is marred by a terrible accident. With a brother fighting in WWI & his father ailing, Cade tries desperately to save his family’s farm & find peace. A chance meeting with heiress Emma Merrick begins a reluctant friendship which turns to more when Emma enlists his help in flying a dying patient to the hospital. Emma’s a nurse for the Red Cross & begs Cade to teach her to fly so she can more quickly get her patients help. While Cade struggles with his past, Emma’s dealing with the stifling expectations of her parents whose loveless marriage & secrets affect every aspect of her life.

In 1863, Major Matthew Merrick’s looking to prove his worth. Sent to the Minnesota wilderness to negotiate an important land treaty with the Ojibwe chief, Matthew finds himself falling in love with the chief’s beautiful daughter. Caught between ambition & love, Matthew struggles when his rival, Jacob Bailey risks exposing his mistakes & taking all he holds dear. Their bitter feud lasts for decades & threatens the happiness of their families.

Ah, this story definitely grabbed hold & didn’t let go! I loved Cade Bailey & couldn’t help but compare him to George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life. Cade feels like everything he touches ends badly. I loved seeing him find forgiveness for himself & the past. I loved Emma too. She’s so kind hearted, yet caught in the middle of her parent’s bad marriage & father’s expectations. I loved seeing her find her spirit. Matthew’s a complicated character who inspires both frustration & compassion. Loved the message that it’s never too late to make things right & find redemption.

Highly recommend! This book is part of the Ladies of the Wilderness series, but is easily read as a standalone. I received an advanced copy from the author, but also purchased a copy from Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

“You’ve always been my greatest adventure, Kate.”

All the stars!!! Every Hour Until Then is a new favorite, thrilling, time slip adventure in the Timeless series. Gabrielle Meyer delivers a fascinating, history infused, heart achingly lovely, forbidden, friends to more romance with spine tingling suspense, & a touch of faith. Set in 1888, England during the horrific Jack the Ripper murders & 1938 in the lead up to WWII, this book kept me enthralled as one woman tries to save her sister show more from being the 5th victim of history’s most notorious killer.

Kathryn Kelly’s a time crosser with two different lives. One morning she wakes up in 1888, London & the next in 1938, Washington D.C. In 1888, her beloved sister Mary discovers a terrible secret & forced to leave their parents’ home without explanation. Vowing to find her sister & the secret, she discovers a heart-wrenching truth.

In 1938, Kate eagerly accepts the invitation to be a guest curator at the London Museum. It’s the 50th anniversary of the Ripper murders & the museum is featuring a groundbreaking exhibit. As Kate researches, she discovers a shocking fact, her sister Mary is Jack’s fifth victim. Determined to change history & prevent her sister’s murder, she enlists her best friend Austen’s help in 1888. But changing history comes with a cost, she’ll forfeit her life in 1888. Can she defeat a diabolical killer & change the past?

I loved this story! Told with gripping historical detail, it was impossible to put down. I’ve always been fascinated by Jack the Ripper & read endless theories as to who he was. I loved this author’s spin on his identity. The pulse pounding story kept me on my toes with a twist at the end I didn’t see coming. There were several suspects I had my eye on & wow was I surprised!

Kate’s & Austen’s romance was heart achingly lovely. She’s told Austen she’ll choose 1938 when the time comes, but that doesn’t prevent love from blossoming. Their first kiss is both terrifying & thrilling!

I loved seeing familiar faces again & can’t wait for the next adventure. Highly recommend this not to miss story! Please note there are factual descriptions of Jack the Ripper’s murders which sensitive readers might want to be aware of. I received an advanced copy from the author & publisher with no expectation of a positive review & also purchased the audiobook from Audible. All opinions are completely my own & voluntarily provided.

"Suffering is not the worst thing in this world. We all suffer. Letting your grief hold you back from living is the true travesty."

The premise of the first book was fascinating and innovative but Gabrielle Meyer takes it up a notch in this sequel. Maggie lives not just two lives but three during three different time periods. In 1861, she is Margaret, the daughter of a Senator. In 1941, she is Maggie, a Naval nurse, granddaughter of a Congressman, and daughter of two time-crossers. In 2001, show more she is Meg, a medical student and daughter of the President's social secretary. Each time period has a war looming and the political activity and environment at our capitol during these time periods is fascinating. I loved seeing the changes in Washington DC and The White House through Maggie's eyes. It's truly amazing how the author writes so clearly and reveals each subplot so coherently that there is no confusion as the reader moves through the time periods with Maggie every chapter. The first person narrative is fresh, honest, raw, and true to a twenty year old struggling with the biggest decision of her life. And those plot twists! There are quite a few so be prepared for some jaw drops and going back several pages to make sure you read the words correctly. The faith lesson of learning to let go and leaving God in control is a good reminder for all of us.

What a fun journey this has been! Will there be a third book in the series? I sure hope so.

I received the book from Bethany House via Interviews & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
