Wow! I picked Stolen Magic from Kindle Unlimited and I'm so glad that I did. To say it's action packed is an understatement. Also, I liked the mix of Greek mythology in the story line and I certainly enjoyed the characters. Lexi Jardine, a thief can control animals and she and her best friend Sylvie(Syl), a werecat, are hiding out in the town of Berkeley's Bay. Then a new fireshaper shows up in town. Jacob Steele's hot as hell but watches Lexi with suspicious eyes and he's watching her every show more move, her safe haven starts feeling more like a trap. Without giving spoilers, read the car chase towards the end...it's mind boggling! I enjoyed the characters, especially Syl and a certain "vampire", Alberto. It was all great fun and certainly a very easy to sit and read pretty much in one go!
I'm now look forward to book two, Murdered Gods, which I just acquired. Happy reading!

Rivers of Hell is just as fast paced as the first two books in the series! I loved this journey with Lexi and Jake, but talk about star crossed lovers. Such an interesting mix of characters with Syl, Holly and Tom and the various Gods of Greek Mythology, like Apollo, Alberto/Hades etc. I understand Marina is writing the final book in the Immortal series and I 'm certainly looking forward to it's release. I would strongly recommend Rivers of Hell and the Shadows of the Immortals series to show more anyone looking for a entertaining and fast paced story. I couldn't put this book down and finished it overnight.

TWICEBORN is one of those books that I am having a really hard time reviewing. The reason being that I didn't dislike the book, but I didn't fall in love with it either. On top of that, there isn't an obvious reason for either, it just was.
TWICEBORN had a lot going for it. Kate was a likable character, the storyline keeps you guessing and the there is action all over the book. So why didn't I love it? I just didn't completely fall into the story and things that I wanted to happen, didn't show more happen like I thought they would. That's not a bad thing, just made it harder for me to totally fall into some of the major scenes.
There was a little bit of romance in TWICEBORN. It was definitely a sideline sort of thing and wasn't super exciting, but I know some people like a little romance with their urban fantasy so I thought I would mention it.
I got through TWICEBORN no problem and I even enjoyed most of it, but not enough to want to know what will happen next.

This one suffers from horrible pacing issues.
Especially the first half is incredibly slow and could be condensed into a single page.
Not only that but the MC stumbles around in the dark without making any progress almost the entire time.
The MC has not the slightest clue about what's going on and tries to figure it out by pretending she does.
If done well this could have been very suspenseful but the book misses basically all the important cornerstones such a setup requires to work.
Even worse, show more this book answers only the most obvious of the many questions it raises.
All in all a very unsatisfying read. show less
