Rootkits: Subverting the Windows Kernel (Addison-Wesley Software Security Series) by Greg Hoglund

He provides every detail that should be considered when making a rootkit and provides many REAL examples. He give working code and reasoning behind using the methods chosen. Will have any new person producing a basic rootkit in no time and will give experienced people a tremendous launchpad to producing advanced rootkits.
