Energizing Superfood Juices and Smoothies by Shauna R. Martin
Nutrient-Dense, Seasonal Recipes to Jump-Start Your Health
Reading the author’s story and what lead her to open a business dedicated to juicing was interesting and inspirational. I am glad that the changes she made in her life were affirming and that she has shared her insights with others.
This book has beautiful photographs and easy to follow recipes for juices, smoothies, salads and main courses all based on fruits and show more vegetables in season. I liked the way the flavors were easy to “taste” in my mind without actually making them in real time. The one question I had was what one is to do with the waste from making the juice? I looked on the business website and found it is recycled and often returned to the farmer the produce was purchased from but for an individual making a juice daily...what would they do with the fiber waste? The reason I ask is that I tried to use it at a friend’s home and it did not make a soup at all...adding in liquid to roughage just didn’t work.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point for the ARC – This is my honest review.
