Israeli assassin David Slaton is sadly mistaken if he thinks he can retire and enjoy a peaceful life sailing the oceans and seas of the world with his wife and son. A four-man team is dispatched to the Philippines to murder him. Slaton has carefully avoided contact with the world outside his sailboat, so the ability of the assassins to determine his location means that powerful forces are behind the attempt. He concludes that he must investigate and neutralize the threat or future attempts show more will occur that will endanger not only him but also his wife and son.
Slaton’s investigation leads him to Paris. There the attacks on him continue and expand to include citizens at numerous locations throughout France. As the events unfold I particularly liked Larsen’s ability to humanize some of the terrorists. I found myself hoping for the survival and rehabilitation of some of the terrorists.
This is an intricately plotted book with numerous, plausible, twists and turns. Each is foreshadowed with careful attention to detail. Just when you think you have everything figured out, Assassin’s Code is guaranteed to surprise you again. show less

This third book in the series is the first Jammer Davis mystery that I've read, and I'm happy to report that the transition into the story was effortless. No questions, no confusion. Davis is a good blend of logic and brute force, and both elements come into play in this story involving his young daughter.
I learned quite a bit about different kinds of aircraft and investigating crash sites, and everything was perfectly geared toward readers who don't have a clue about these things: light, show more to the point, and very interesting. There were even touches of humor throughout the book, which were needed in such a serious story.
Jammer Davis is a well-drawn character who will definitely make me come back to this series, especially since Passenger 19 also has an engrossing plot that really picks up speed once Davis has enough clues to begin piecing together what happened.
After enjoying this book, I think I'll take a look at the other Jammer Davis mysteries. Good stuff! show less

Review of Advance Reading Copy
When a helicopter goes down during a precarious rescue, Coast Guard rescue swimmer Trey DeBolt is critically injured. But he awakens in a seaside cabin in Maine where the nurse caring for him tells him he’s officially dead.
Meanwhile, an unusual chain of events leads civilian Coast Guard investigator Shannon Lund to believe that Trey may still be alive.
Maine is thousands of miles from where the accident occurred but before Trey can get some answers from the show more nurse, military-trained assassins kill her and then turn to hunting for DeBolt. Trey doesn't understand why he's in the assassin's crosshairs until he discovers he’s become part of a super-secret government experimental project . . . and his new powers may be the one thing that will get him killed.
At its core, this is a story of people thrown into a situation not of their own making, forced into fighting for their lives. Well-drawn characters, a twisty and often unpredictable plot, non-stop action, and an intense cat-and-mouse chase all combine to build suspense and keep the tension building. Readers will find it difficult to set aside before turning the final page. This mesmerizing tale leaves readers with much to consider.

I keep reading these novels and each is characterized by a complicated plot and a book title that is generic enough so that each of the titles I've read so far, can be swithed with each other and make just as much sense. It is the extraordinary person, David Slaton that is the main character, someone always in control, always better prepared and more accomplished than anyone else. Ridiculous I know, but this is my romance novel, so keep them coming!
