She specializes in fun, comedic reads about accident prone, easily distracted women with questionable taste in men. So, autobiographies, mostly.
Amy is the former East Coast Editor of SURFER Magazine but the urge to drive up and down the coast interviewing surfers has long since left her. Currently, she is a nerd and Labradoodle mommy who works at home with her goofy husband.

This installment was a bit problematic for me, but I adore the cast, and found the storyline to be unique and thrilling at points so I'm still 5 staring it.
I love that Charlotte is having to work at being a PI. Being observant, finding clues, etc. isn't coming easy to her and it makes the storyline so realistic. She had a crazy career idea and is having to work for it. Each mini case around the port that she gets is simple yet, a learning experience. I excited to watch this skill of her show more develop as the series goes on.
Now to the problematic stuff.
The entire Stephanie storyline is so hard to buy. I kept thinking "but why" throughout most of her chapters. I am not looking forward to her being a main character. Who just casually lets their crazy cheater ex come over, or speak to them?? I've been puzzling over this since she appeared in the last book, but now it's clear that her being allowed to stay had to happen because she needed to be in the picture to be in this book. After the scare in the last book, any logical person would have ex communicated her, not just giggled off her crazy behavior.
The added POVs to give the reader spoilers were also ugh for me. It's like the book couldn't decide who was the main character and what the main plot line was. Is it adorable Charlotte, hunting down her port mysteries. Or is it Stephanieserial killing it up just like her mom ?!?
While I loved the shocking reveal in Jamie's storyline, the connections revealed between Stephanie and Jamie were over the top for me. Like it was done for pure shock value.
I don't know, this book book left me with thoughts. lol I know I'll continue onto the next because i am curious who is lead, and the cast gives me a good laugh, but this book, and any where Stephanie's over the top storyline dominate won't be favorites of mine.
I'm also now rooting for Charlotte to leave Declan because no one has time for someone who can't push off an ex. She deserves better. show less

The Girl Who Wants: An addictive romantic thriller packed with twists and dangerous family secrets. (The Shee McQueen Mystery Thriller Series Book 1) by Amy Vansant
Shee McQueen hasn't used her birth name, Siofra, in over a decade, but then again, Shee constantly uses different aliases as a bounty hunter/skip tracer. She learned her craft from her father, Mick McQueen, but after her latest case, she can't hide the want, no the need, to go home and see him.
Arriving in Jupiter Beach, Florida, Shee is met with an unexpected shock. Who expects to discover their lion-hearted father in a hospital bed, attended by a private duty nurse, his recovery from a show more gunshot wound uncertain after his last case? The situation becomes even more complicated when Mason Connelly shows up, behaving as if nothing has changed. However, Mason remains unaware of the secret Shee has kept hidden for nearly 30 years. Shee is left grappling with the fear that her presence could further endanger her father. The weight of it all makes it almost impossible for her to concentrate.
This book features fast-paced reading filled with non-stop action! It's difficult to stop turning the pages so quickly, but you won't want to miss anything, as the past significantly influences the present in numerous ways. The humorous exchanges of dialogue enhance the characterizations, making the story even more engaging. I was completely surprised by the connection twist within the storyline. Without giving away any spoilers, I can only hope you are as delighted as I am by the reveal. show less

Pineapple Lies: Pineapple Port Romantic Comedy / Mystery: Book One (Pineapple Port Mysteries) (Volume 1) by Amy Vansant
Pineapple Lies (Pineapple Port Mysteries, #1) by Amy Vansant
Charlotte grew up in one of Florida’s fifty-five plus communities. She has a fun life. Golf cart racing , Gossiping and hanging around with her Mothers two best friends, Mariska and Darla. Then one day she finds the pawnbroker’s Mom buried in her backyard. Charlotte is determined to solve the mystery.
A well written fast paced, light murder mystery. Charlotte is very likable, living among Floridian seniors she leads a normal, yet show more unlikely fun life. Her Mother, Mariska and Darla are quirky, spunky and all around fun. They are very likable. Then there is Declan the sexy pawnbroker. He is very likable and Charlotte is definitely attracted to him (eve if she doesn't want to admit it).
The story moves swift, the suspect list grows. Anyone and everyone could be the suspect. The plot thickens with secrets, twists and turns. Add a bit of romance, laugh out loud moments and the story becomes a perfect romantic/comedy/murder-mystery. I strongly recommend Pineapple Lies to those who love a great (cozy) murder/mystery. show less

The Girl Who Wants: An addictive mystery thriller packed with suspense, twists and dangerous family secrets. (The Shee McQueen Mystery Thriller Series) by Amy Vansant
OH. MY. WORD!! I've always wanted to read this author, but never won a gift card to purchased one of her books . Now, I am hooked and I HAVE TO READ MORE! I cried when Mason's mom left suddenly with her abusive husband to never return, and I laughed at the two kids calling themselves peanut butter and jelly!! Shee and Mason found each other again as teenagers, but an argument had Mason slamming out of the door of her flee bit hotel room. Twenty-five years later, they meet up again after she show more had stayed hidden for fifteen years to keep her dad safe because someone wanted her dead. I loved what I named Shee as She-Ra as she was one scary lady that you didn't want to be on her bad side. I loved that Mason regretted walking out on the only woman that he ever loved and spent twenty-five years to look for her, but now her fear of the secrets she kept from him would only tear them apart. show less
