Really cool art from both artists, crazy original ideas that fit right in with the Mörk Borg ethos. Layout is top-notch, text could use some editing.
This is a book of ideas, character sketches, location sketches, rumors. Though the characters are stat'd out, that's not really saying much considering Mörk Borg's minimalist system. There are two schools of thought on this. The first is, "This book is cool, it gives you ideas and you run with them and create your own adventures." The second show more is, "I wish this book would have given more details so I didn't have to spend time creating the details." Whether you like this book or not is dependent upon which of those schools you are a student of. I tend to be of the second school so I'm disappointed that the details aren't already there, but then when the details are there I usually change them a bunch anyway. :) show less

More beautiful awesomeness from Philip Reed Games. These are definitely some VERY strange citizens. I feel like he built the characters by looking at the art and because the art has a certain style there was a kind of repetition of ideas. Also at least 3 or 4 typos which is kind of disappointing in a book this short.
Reading this kind of book really makes my creative gears start turning and in a less conventional direction. I've been slaying dragons and saving princesses for more than 40 show more years now, I need something fresh and exciting and this kind of stuff totally does it for me. show less

Pretty much what I've come to expect from Philip Reed: great layout, cool art, interesting writing, and brevity.
I liked the story hooks a lot and the rumors were cool too. The only complaint I have is that I thought the monsters could have used a little more diversity. They all seemed to be humanoids or dragon-like.
