Helen Guyton Rees (1910–2008)

This really suffers for being a standalone book. It's not much of a biography--it barely delves into a brief period of Ada Belle's life. It doesn't provide a lot of information about being a schoolmarm--the letters transcribed have some interesting anecdotes, but don't tie together into a whole. There's an interesting peek into what it was like to graduate high school at the turn of the 20th century, but it isn't well-developed. If this was part of a larger work, those traits might not be show more weaknesses. As it is, this isn't really worth picking up unless you're already interested in the subject. show less
