Another book about culture in my database, I felt this was the most important. With Spanish/Mexican Americans everso present in the classroom, it is really important to become familiar with this group and their lives outside of the US. This book follows a boy through his transition into the States, and talks about the struggles he faces in doing so. It is important for teachers to be advocates for any student going through such a major change especially at an early age, and to do so we need show more to be familiar with their home lives. show less
This book is good for children kindergarten to third grade. It shows the strong bond between a pet and its owner. This book shows the responsibility needed for the children to take care of Rosalie.
