This is a Big Mama book. This complete reference guide for plants of every shape and size and attitude is perfect for any gardener, regardless of skill set. I particularly liked how it is set up by color coding for each chapter (such as Trees And Shrubs, Annuals And Perennials, Fruit And Nut Trees). Until I found this, I relied upon my smartphone to answer my questions when in a nursery, but some rural locations have poor data coverage, so now I bring Big Mama with me.
In order to have show more descriptions for thousands of plants, the summaries are short and concise, which helps me to make a decision before I decide to purchase a seedling. The majority of the information is focused on temperate zones, although tropical is also included, just not as the major focus. The only bad thing about this reference guide is that I have spent more money on plants than I would have without Big Mama.

Loving the pictures and the information. This book is set up in a really interesting and useful way and full of vivid color and images. Good stuff.
