I freely chose to review this ARC as I am a fan of this author. This book does not follow the norm of the author's books, and the plot is a refreshing change of pace. Take an evil being only known as "The Fearless" that has tormented the known galaxy for hundreds of years, and nothing was known about it except it was huge, deadly, and evil. Throw in a Governor of Verien, and ice cold planet loaded with stones that could power the galaxy for many years, and the commander of the Paladin who is show more just as stubborn as the feisty human governor. These two not only have to take back the lifestone before it gets in the claws of the evil monster or every planet is doomed, and they have to take time when they can get it to fall in love, but could they make it work? show less
I usually read paranormal books and watch sci-fi but every now and then a chance to read a potentially good sci-fi book pops up and I just have to take a chance…

The Brion are a warrior race that reminds me of the Klingons with their honor and the desire for glory on the battle field. These Brion believe in fated mates and only the males are capable of recognizing their mates, so Deliya is reluctant to invest her time and heart in Darien since it appears that she is not his mate, I can’t show more blame her for that. But I am really glad she did let him into her room all the same because the steam coming of my tablet from the sexy bedroom scene, that took up several chapters, that was also almost a battle of wills as Darien got Deliya to admit her attraction.

I felt like the author, Vi Voxley, put a lot of thought into every detail of her story, from the snowy battle field of Antara to the valor squares that signify rank and are tied into the emotions of the warrior they are imbedded in. The was a great deal to really like and enjoy about this book and I am looking forward to reading this one, as well as the other books in the series, again at a later date.

Holy spaceman!

The Nayanors need women to carry on their species since no women are born on their planet anymore. To get the women they need, they raid other planets, including Earth.

Zar is a harbinger in charge of the raid where Ashley is captured. The moment he sees her, he knows she is his fated mate. The question is, can he make her believe it?

Great story, loads of adventure. I love all the struggles that Ashley and Zar go through to get their HEA.
Can they bring peace?

The Brion are a warlike species. Their greatest general is Diego Grothan. He's never been defeated, but when he meets Isolde, a human scientist, has he met his match?

Isolde is a scientist on her way to another planet to do some research. When she misses her ship, a helpful agent asks the Diego to get her where she's going. That's when he realizes that she's Hus fated mate.

Well paced story, good premise, likeable characters. I've read this several times now. It's a nice, show more light SciFi romance to make you feel good. show less
