- Cdr. Michael R. Adams, USCG (Ret.), is a master mariner (oceans, any gross tonnage), certified STCW instructor, and member of the Florida Bar. During his two decades in the Coast Guard, he served in the cutters Absecon, Boutwell, Dependable, Midgett, and Steadfast and as commanding officer of the cutter Ute. As a junior officer in Absecon, he served on the North Atlantic Ocean Stations Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, and Hotel. After his Coast Guard service, he spent eleven years as captain of the large oil spill response vessel Delaware Responder with brief intervals as captain of the California Responder, Maine Responder, and Virginia Responder.
