In 1930 Alfred Rust travelled to Syria by bike. Suffering from dysentria he went to a Danish mission hospital in Syria. When he told them about the aim of his visit: studying stone artefacts; they told him about the cave of Jabrud. From 1930 to 1933 the Rust team excavated some 45 culture layers with several new types of stone artefacts which he called "Jabrudien". He finished (the preface of) the book in 1941, but as a result of the 2nd wordl war it lasted it was published not before show more 1950.
