This book has too much violence, drama and sexual content to be about high school teenagers. It’s like Gossip Girl on steroids. I am not usually one to read such stories. So, why did I pick this up and then continue with it???? For the same reason I binge watched Gossip Girl. This series is damn addictive. I did not want to put it down at all!!! Ella may have grown up poor with a mother who was a stripper, but is now thrust unwillingly into this world of entitled prep school kids and the show more Royals. But she is spunky and strong with a backbone and will not let anyone get her down. I hated Reed in the beginning and still have lots of problems with his character but the progression was good. Their relationship obviously starts off with insta-lust aggravated by teenage hormones but I still love them together. I love how Ella becomes a part of the family and they all make a great team. Easton may have his addiction issues but he is still cute and I love his semi-brotherly affection towards her. Despite all its problems, I fell in love with the book and couldn’t wait to start the next one, also obviously compelled by the crazy cliffhanger. show less
I really really enjoyed this one! Easton is the most intriguing of the Royals and the things we saw from him here and learned about him were sad and heartbreaking.
Easton seems like the brother who struggles the most, but that no one ever pays attention to. He messes up just about everything, even when he is legitimately trying to do right.
The glimpses we get at Hartley and her story pairs wells with Easton's story and she is just as heartbreaking as Easton.
The ending caught me off guard and show more actually gave me a sinking feeling. I need to get the next book immediately. show less

I really liked Easton in this one, since he was my favorite Royal right from the beginning. He was super protective of Hartley and managed to overcome all the shit obstacles that appeared in his path.
Hartley's storyline in this book really got my attention too, though I really wish things would have focused a lot less on her memory loss. The constant mentions of her not being able to remember
The ending section where Hartley's dad and Steve died had me on the edge of my seat. I expected the whole spying deal to be rather dull, but it was very gripping. I felt like total crap for Hartley when her dad mentioned never wanting any of his kids and I got a sick sense of "good" when Steve died. At least that problem was solved for good.
OH MY GOD.
Cannot say anything without revealing spoilers, but ack, these two authors LOVE cliffhangers. And now I have to wait until January to read the next book! As usual the incredible writing team of Erin Watt has managed to write a sharp-tongued, witty and dram-filled edition of Royals entertainment, this time featuring middle child Easton Royal. And I have to hand it to them, I wasn't entirely sure I could competely get behind a book about East. I liked him okay in the first three show more books, but here, they really made him into a sympathetic character who is sort of the lost sheep in the middle of the family, surrounded by twin brothers who have always bonded with each other, and two older brothers who shoulder him out for being a goof. You just want to give the guy a hug, even when you want to shake him hard by the shoulders for doing something so wrong.
The second half of the book is where the drama really starts to rachet up. I LOVED the Felicity drama, and if you would have told me at the beginning someone could sell me on a sweet, sincere Easton, I never would have believed it, but by the end of that second half, Hartley and East were downright adorable. Just some really nice writing. And OMG how could they do this to us with that ending and then make us wait for the next book!? Such a great cliffhanger! 4.5/5 stars.
