Eh. I love stories about abused people learning to trust and love. I'm bored with fated mates and books that are all about the sex. So - this was okay, but Trevor recovered too fast to be realistic, and way too much explicit sex. I also find mpreg stories a bit silly. I might have been more interested if there was more about this world - apparently there are several types of shifters, some genetic and some who can be turned. And several other species as well. It was also a tad sketchy - show more again, Trevor recovered trust extremely fast. The new wolves coming in were barely sketched - no feel for them as people, or anything about their attackers. Heck, Colt is a cardboard sketch after the drive home. Could have been interesting, but the author chose to focus mostly on the sex and much less on the people or the world. Not sorry I read it but not looking for more by this author. show less

A big fan of the series, but man, I was definitely a bit disappointed with this one. Had I gone in without any expectations, I probably would have enjoyed it more, but I really felt like Connor had been set up as ace in the previous book and with the violence Devlin had suffered, just expected a completely different relationship dynamic. I cannot wrap my head around how someone who had been suffering that much trauma (Devlin) could jump straight into a heavy sex life with no issues with show more penetration at all. Most of the relationship was so happy-totally-fine that it was like he hadn't experienced anything. Combined with the low attraction Connor'd had previously, I really expected a warmer, less sexual relationship with more comfort and cuddles. And the situation with Connor's family, that had been pushing him to mate previously, was only mentioned briefly in the conclusion. show less

This was fine. Nothing that special and it had some plot lines I really hated. This is a very short book so the author really has to think about how they're using the time they have. Up until the 40% mark, there was a huge refusal to communicate plot that I really did not like. I feel like that is just such a basic and overused plot point in romance and it's not even a good trope. It makes the people in the relationship seem childish because they won't talk to each other. I think show more it's fine when characters are worried to share how they how they feel about the other person because that is a scary thing to do, especially if you don't know how that person feels about you. But, if there is no communication and a person is just assuming things, even after they have shown affection, that's what I don't like.

Even though I didn't love this book, I did like all of the side characters and I would love to read Kenny and Colin's story. Of all of the couples in this book, they seemed the most interesting and I loved the little snippets we got of their background.

This book is fine and you'll probably know exactly what kind of story this is going to be from page one so if its what you're feeling at the moment, you might really enjoying. This is just above the length of a novella so it is super easy to just fly through. Like I said, I'll probably read at least one more book in this series and then I'll have to see if there are any more of the books that seem interesting to me.

The stories and packs continue to intertwine within this series.

The omega auction is a hot mess and I can't understand why it hasn't been shut down, but the we'd have no shifter drama! In this we have Kenny who had spent the last four years being adored and spoiled by his alpha. They have several children and another on the way when suddenly Kenny's alpha arranges for him to be sent to the auction, pregnancy be damned.

Of course this wasn't actually the case. There was backstabbing, show more betrayals, lies and a bitter jealous contracted bond mate behind it all. It takes some convincing from Collin, his alpha, to convince Kenny that he is loved and wanted. But if he does return home, it will leave Drey, the alpha who purchased him at auction, without an omega. Fortunately for the couple, Drey ships it

There is so much going on in these stories, I applaud the author for keeping it all straight, weaving it between all the different story lines, and not losing the actual story. I have been listening to these audio novellas on my commute to/from work and on breaks and I have been enjoying them. Looking forward to the next twist in the story.
