Dazzle Razzle

A complex book about pimping. Although it begins in the detritus of the worst elements of street culture, it moves to redeem itself in progressively more ornate and paranoiac systems of thought. Pimping is taken and sublated into ever newer and complex systems. Last swaths of western philosophy are intersected. This largely takes place under post-structuralist rubrics. The text is performative and provides the basis of an ethics of intersubjectivity that occur in the other two texts of the show more 'triptych'. Despite all of this, it is still fundamentally a book about how to pimp. There are scenes of horrible violence and great brutality. However, this does give way as the figure of the pimp is held up to scrutiny and exploded. It will not be everyone's cup of tea. show less
