A classic work
It might not be as thorough as a more modern work, but it is an early biography by someone who knew him intimately, and therefore is full of interesting anecdotes that might be missed by a more scholarly work.
I felt it to be important to read as part of my study of the greatness of Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln was humble. He listened patiently to those who criticized him even when they were unaware of who they were talking to.

I really enjoyed this book. It flew by and contained a multitude of great Lincoln stories, many of which I had not heard before. Weik is a very good writer, and he can make Lincoln come alive at times. Terrific book that belongs on every Lincoln collector's bookshelf (and should be read by every collector). At first, I rated this at 4 1/2 stars, but I found that I couldn't explain why I wanted to give it a deduction. So, I uprated it to 5 stars... which it really is.
