I really love how realistic their intimate (bed) scenes were written & drawn.
It wasn’t just hot & steamy like it’s usually portrayed, but actually something intimate & delicate, with consent and talking about it. Which can be awkward, but shows the maturity of the author.

I started by watching the animated film, so I already knew the story, but I gave the manga a shot, and I really enjoyed volume 1! The art is beautiful and the cast is sweet. It feels a bit fast-paced, and the animated film gave the story the time to breathe that it didn't have here as much, but overall it's still the same story, and a lot of fun.

It's a gentle story about support and affection, and learning to trust. About societal expectations and how that plays into how you view yourself show more and your sexuality and your options in life, and what you hope for for others you care for. It's also a story about loss, and how important support is at such times.

Volume 1 is essentially the entirety of the film, if folks are looking for that, but there are four more volumes.

Looking forward to volume 2!

"Boys never ever hit girls. Boys are tougher."
Fucking bullshit.
If anyone, the girl should've apologized for being stupid. Maybe Fumi shouldn't have slapped her, but sometimes everyone needs a wake-up-call.

Oh, but then it gets worse: "Girls just... believe they can cry whenever."
Are you fucking kidding me? How many gender stereotypes does the author wanna throw in more??

On a positive note, Chiho's stepdad is a house-husband.

Also, glad how casual Shun handled all the paparazzi and being show more famous thing. show less
