Good girl gone bad. Naw, all good girls have a lot of bad girl just under the surface. This would have been my absolute fantasy when I was younger (now too for that matter, just woudn't make the cut at 55 LOL) Good girl meets bad rockstar, stars in music video, insert tons of smexy stuff here and end up hea. Jaine writes some fantastic smut and really does a great job getting the reader completely invested in the characters. I read this book in one sleepless fueled night of reading frenzy. show more LOVED the story!
I needed a break from my normal dark college bully troupe and I love rockstar romance, but they can get so dull. Not this one. HOT AS F from cover to cover. show less

A Music Romance Anthology
What a wonderful treat this anthology proved to be. I went in thinking I would read a few, write a review, and then move on. I usually pick up anthologies to find a new author or read a favorite in the mix but even though THIS collection of fourteen music themed romances of novella length was one I thought I would quickly give up on…I did not. I found myself finishing one and thinking…so what does the next author have to share?
The stories are show more diverse, all have some element of music involved, and provide romance. The characters range in age from high school through married couples that are nearing fifty. The love stories are warm and true and resonated even though shorter than I sometimes wanted because I was not ready to say goodbye to the characters.
I admit that I have read a few “rock romances” and kind of gave up on them BUT this book has made e realize I might want to read more music-based stories in the future…and more than one of the authors who chose to contribute to this anthology will be on my list to look for in the future.
Excellent collection with something for everyone AND for a worthy cause that will provide funds for https://musicares.org/ As one who has loved, played, listened to, and been in musical groups for fun…am glad to find out there is an NGO like this.
I did take notes on every story and could say more but will instead advise you to pick up a copy of the book, read, and enjoy…as I did today.
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Rockstar bad-boy chaos from start to finish. This book is messy, flirty, and hot, with nonstop energy. Jesse is that dirty bad boy you know is trouble but can’t help falling for anyway — cocky, reckless, and way too easy to love. The chemistry is intense, the steam is cranked up, and the whole story feels wild in the best way. If you like your romance loud, sexy, and unapologetically chaotic, this one hits.
I had my first experience with Jaine Diamond’s work when I read Dirty Like Me, book one in the Dirty series. This was when I met Maggie and Zane. I had many questions about their relationship. It was evident there was something going on between them, but the author did not elaborate. Therefore, when I discovered there was a prequel to the Dirty series which would provide me with the answers I sought, I jumped at the chance to claim a free copy of this novella. What the story is about.Maggie show more is the assistant manager for Dirty, the hottest rock band in the country. Zane is the lead singer. Maggie and Zane were attracted to each other, from the moment she started working with the group six years ago. Maggie, however, has rules, which she established for her life, one of which is not to sleep with her co-workers. A rule she has managed not to break in spite of her growing attraction to Zane.Zane would do anything to protect Maggie, especially from her father’s constant degrading comments and his attempts to use her connections to the group to help re-establish his career. His desire to protect her led to him making a proposal that will forever change their lives. The CharactersMaggie and Zane would be good together if only she believed he genuinely cared for her. I understood her doubts where that was concerned because he goes through women as often as he changes his clothing. However, what she did not know was, his love for her went deeper than the friendship they shared. She brought out the best in him.Maggie is a strong, smart and funny heroine. She is fiercely protective of the members of the band whom she considers her family. She takes crap from no one. I loved how she did not allow her father’s terrible treatment to define her. It hurt, but she did not allow it to keep her down. Zane is a fun, caring and lovable character. He too had his own issues, but he rose above them, which is a daily struggle for him. I admired his strength in dealing with these issues, which given the temptations he faces each day would not have been easy. The StoryI enjoyed the banter, which was funny and sexy. I laughed throughout most of the story. I should warn you though the dialogue was loaded with enough dirty talk to make one blush. There were a lot of swear words, which I found distracting. In spite of this, I thought the story was well written. Told from alternate first person POV the story gave insight into the emotional turmoil both characters faced. ConclusionThis being a novella, I only got a brief look into the lives of Zane and Maggie, but now I have a full understanding of the reasons for the tension that exists between them.RecommendationOverall, this was an enjoyable read, and I can’t wait to find out how things will end up for these two.
