Burn baby, burn.
Kennedy Fox have perfected the art of the slow burn and while Keeping Him as a novel wasn't the slowest burn I've ever read, as a series this couple definitely wins the award for slowest relationship movement EVER. These two are as hard headed as they come, meaning the flame between them burns so darn bright anyone can see it, except them. We've gotten to know Jackson and Kiera throughout the previous novels in the Bishop Brothers series, so we already know they're show more meant to be, but the ride they've been on is a twisted on and it's hard to tell where it's going. With a ring on her finger and Trent waiting for her at the end of the aisle Kiera has to make some tough choices about love, life, and the future she wants for herself. If you think an angsty novel feels like a rollercoaster, try falling in love with Jackson Bishop when you're a teenager.
"I was never the right guy for you, but you were always the right girl for me."
Keeping Him has been at the top of my most anticipated list since we first met Alex in Taming Him. Sure, I have a soft spot for Evan and I never could have predicted how John's story would work out, but Jackson is the temptation no girl can deny and I was desperate to see what Kennedy Fox had in store for him. Turns out, it was a lot. We get to know the fast-talking, whiskey drinking cowboy and find out there's quite a lot more to him than one night stands and being late to work always. Sure, he's easy on the eyes, but there's a lot of heart to him and I really like that he was the last brother to have a book in the series. He's easy to judge, but even easier to fall for once you know him. And Kiera? Every female is on her side. She's beautiful, smart, and considered part of the Bishop's family, but her friendship with Jackson was always just a hopeful plea for more. I cheered that girl on as she fought for what she wanted, both in learning to love another and in discovering her own personal self worth. She has so much more strength to her and I love that as a character she gets an individual story that has a lot of meaning to it. I struggled with a lot of her choices, but I also appreciated the growth she went through because of them. Told from dual perspectives with past and present chapters we get to know the teens they used to be and the adults they've grown into. These two have so many mistakes between them, but watching them work through them is what makes this book so good.
Truth or dare?
Like all KF books, there's drama, smut, and in the Bishop Brothers' cases, a whole heaping pile of family loving. This little town of Texans has been such a joy to read about, I feel like I've been there and know every single person. Keeping Him was a fantastic read for me, I loved the drama, the bit of suspense we got, and of course all the romancing. No one does it better than the Bishop Brothers, that's for sure. This book has been more than worth the wait and if you've not met the brothers yet, get on it. show less

Y'all, I was so excited for Evan's story and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The ladies of Kennedy Fox managed to make it a smutty slow burn romance, with Emily and Evan recognizing the lust and chemistry between them, but only agreeing to one night of passion. Each has walls built up high around them and follows a strict set of rules, both too aware of the damage ones heart goes through when in love. Of course, a one night stand story show more with no further interaction would be boring and this story is anything, but boring. They become co-workers and enemies with attraction still sizzling between them. We’re treated to Evan and all his Alpha glory, with sassy Emily giving it right back to him.
"She's at work, outside of work, and in my fantasies- the woman is dangerous."
I really liked both Evan and Emily, they’re so smart and have interesting back stories. Their joining together is hilarious and sexy, though there is a secondary storyline filled with suspense. I was intrigued by Evan’s closed off nature, so different from his brothers, and Emily, well we know right away why she has rules in place. What starts as a one night affair turns into workplace banter and heated escapes. I loved the enemies-to-lovers plot, especially with how much growth each character goes through. Needing Him is such an accurate title, though I think ultimately they both discovered a need for each other as they realized letting another into your life isn’t as bad as you think. The two had to weigh the risk versus the reward, treating readers to a push-and-pull story filled with smut.
"'I think you like it when I defy you,' she taunts ..."
While Needing Him is a Bishops Brother series novel and we do get to visit the ranch, the majority of the novel takes place in the hospital. It becomes a secondary character almost, with drama and action-packed scenes that reveal who Evan and Emily really are when they aren’t shacking up. The world building in this series is incredible and I love the small town atmosphere and how easy it is to picture. Of course, we get to visit the other brothers too and the stage is certainly set for the next novel in the series. Evan is probably my favorite, I love that he’s a bossy doctor, but I’m very excited for more John and Jackson. show less

4.5 delightful stars
What a nice surprise this book was. Not sure how I found it but I'm glad I did. V was a delight. I loved her witty comebacks. Travis was swoon worthy. The back and fourth chemistry and banter had me laughing several times. The steam was perfect too. Anxious to start on the next book. I have a serious soft spot for Drew.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author...We have the second installment of the Bishop brothers, Lordy, Lordy, everytime I read about one of these hot cowboys, I want to go to Texas, in away though I am glad this is fiction because I would be in trouble. Evan though has almost everything you could want, he is gorgeous, alpha hot doctor, again Lordy. We meet Emily who catches her disgusting boyfriend cheating on her but she doesn't just take it she humiliates him and his cohort by taking their show more clothes giving them no option but announce to the hospital that they were doing the nasty by having to leave the on-call room naked..(loved that part). She relocates to start fresh but does not begin on good footing with Evan when she also steals his clothes after a night of pleasure but there was a misunderstanding..Anyhoo this was fun and can't wait for next installment please..Enjoy! show less
