What is this Romance genre called? To call it Erotica seems too easy.
It's a category that doesn't bear any resemblance to reality, because the hero is off the scale alpha. But it's not 'dirty' and I don't know why that word is thrown around so much especially in book titles. The romantic moments and the romance overall are sweet and sincere.
I found the story quite interesting and the heroine Emma - the quiet librarian cliche - moving out of her comfort zone and looking for adventure was a show more reasonable storyline. The contrast is white on black with the man who intrigued her, Gavin, who it turns out was the owner of a pleasure club. But he's not a bad ass, maybe a hard ass at times.
It's not as spicy as the book jacket blurb implies - it's quite tame actually, especially with Gavin's younger brother, Cooper, playing the good guy, there's plenty of scope for both the older and younger brothers to have their own stories as the series progresses. show less

Baby Daddy was such a fun, flirty, and surprisingly sweet read! I picked it up expecting a lighthearted rom-com with a juicy premise, and Kendall Ryan definitely delivered on that front. It’s the kind of book that makes you laugh, swoon, and maybe fan yourself a little—all while falling for characters you can’t help but root for.
The premise hooked me right away: a chance meeting, an unexpected pregnancy, and a man who isn’t just ridiculously attractive but also genuinely kind and show more responsible? Yes, please! I loved how Ryan took what could have been a cliché setup and made it feel fresh and engaging. The story balanced humor with heart, which kept me invested from start to finish.
The chemistry between the leads was electric. From their first encounter, the sparks were flying, and I couldn’t wait to see how their relationship developed. What really stood out for me was how natural their connection felt—it wasn’t just about the attraction (though that was definitely there), but also about trust, vulnerability, and figuring out what it means to build a future together when life throws you a curveball. Their banter was witty, their steamy moments were very well written, and their sweeter scenes melted me.
I also really enjoyed the heroine’s journey. She wasn’t just swept along by the romance; she had her own doubts, fears, and insecurities that felt very real. Watching her open up and allow herself to take a risk on love made her feel relatable. And the hero? Total book boyfriend material—protective, charming, and with just the right amount of edge to keep him interesting.
That said, I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because there were a few spots where the pacing felt a little rushed. Some conflicts were resolved so quickly that I wanted a bit more tension or exploration before the happy resolution. I also wished for slightly deeper dives into the emotional fallout of their situation—it sometimes leaned a little more on the rom-com fluff than the heavier emotions I think were there beneath the surface.
Still, none of that stopped me from enjoying this book. Baby Daddy is the perfect kind of read when you want something sexy, funny, and heartwarming. It’s addictive, it’s charming, and it leaves you with a big smile on your face. Kendall Ryan knows how to write the kind of romance you can sink into, and this one was no exception.
Four glowing stars from me—definitely recommend if you love steamy rom-coms with a tender side and a hero you’ll fall head over heels for. show less

Kendall Ryan has a game-winner with THE RIVAL (Looking to Score #2). In this story, Boston Titans’ bad-boy center Alex Braun and the assistant of the team owner Aspen Ford, end up alone together at a remote Canadian cabin for the summer. They are attracted to each other, but things are a bit complicated because of their relationship to the team owner Eden Wynn. She happens to be Aspen’s boss/friend and Alex’ ex-girlfriend.
I was looking forward to reading THE RIVAL after reading book show more one, THE REBEL. I always find it interesting to read the view point of the person that was made out to be the bad guy in a different book. Alex is not really a bad guy. I enjoyed his point of view. It would be difficult to have your ex become your boss and watch them become engaged to someone else. I felt bad that Alex had a strained relationship with his family because they seemed more interested in his money then him. I respected that Aspen gave Alex a chance. She had a preconceived opinion of him being a selfish jerk. I like that she ultimately gave him an opportunity and got to know him to form her own opinion. I appreciated that Alex gave Aspen the hope and courage that she needed to get over her recent break up. I like that Alex and Eden was aware enough to realize they were not the right people for each other.
THE RIVAL was skillfully written and entertaining. The characters have a lot of dimensions and grew throughout the novel. THE RIVAL is an excellent addition to the Looking to Score series. I do recommend reading book one, THE REBEL first. I look forward to reading Logan Tate’s and Summer Campbell’s story in book three, THE ROOKIE. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. show less

Shock value has nothing on Kendall Ryan. The Hookup Handbook is a giant riot. I laughed so hard I cried. Only a Ryan character can get away with vocalizing the words we all want to say, but dare to keep to ourselves. Case and Sienna light up every scene they share. From sassy to brassy and with a hint of nasty, Ryan reminds us how much fun it is to be bad. 5 Stars.
