Cover/Title: The title is what ultimately drew me in. I love fairytale remakes. The cover is perfect for this story.

Characters: I loved Aoife. She was not a helpless heroine. She is a fighter and I loved that. Ronan was ok but he seemed to take a backseat in this story.

Plot: Aoife makes a deal with a little man and her life spirals out of her control. She is in a race against time to figure out how to keep her loved ones safe.

Overall: I truly loved this rendition of Rumpelstiltskin. The show more author gave him such a believable background filled with hurt and heartache. I will definitely be looking for ore by this author. show less
Beautifully and Hauntingly Deep

This is truly a remarkable version of Rumpelstiltskin. The characters are so deep and intricately woven into the story. The magic and truth behind all the words felt so raw and realistic. Definitely a story that digs with wonder into the soul of the reader.

At first the author's descriptions and details felt heavy until I really saw and unraveled the complexity of the story's feel. Then the words took on a life of their own and brought life to this classic show more tale.

Read Rated for ages 14 for embracing the raw realities of life with candor and delicacy.

Nice fairy tale retelling

You don't see many versions of Rumpelstiltskin so I was intrigued when I started this. The beginning was too slow for me, I felt like not much was happening. It definitely picked up in the latter half. I liked seeing the romance develop and the backstory was interesting. Aoife was smart and independent, which I loved. Not bad overall
A much more complete rendering of the tale of Rumpelstiltskin. Well written but somehow still a bit of a slog.
