ADDICTIVE AS FUCK. I couldn't stop reading it. Could. Not. Stop. And I don't even like the celebrity/regular person trope usually.
It takes a special kind of book to come along that makes me read it straight through without stopping-- and that's exactly what Follow Me Back was. I started it Sunday evening and finished it that night.
I could not stop reading this book. It was so addictive. I wanted to know what made Tessa scared to leave her house, and I wanted to know what would happen when show more she found out that she was actually conversing with her celebrity obsession-- but mostly, I wanted to read about these 2 characters and their inner thoughts and fears and passions.
This book surprised me so much because I don't usually go for the whole "normal girl" and celebrity trope. I was super surprised that there even was a flirty/romantic relationship because I was expecting this to be dark, but there was and I liked it??? I think it's because Tessa was so relatable and I cared about what she had to say. I felt like I was just as excited to talk to Tessa as Eric was. I wanted to know how her therapy was going, and I wanted to be her friend.
It was also very interesting to read about the dark side of celebrity. I don't think I'd go as far as saying I feel bad for them-- but I do know it would be tough giving up so much of your privacy and never knowing if a mentally ill or psychotic fan is going to do something violent or go too far.
The ending: WHAT??? I loved that this got to that super dark place, and I even kind of loved that this ended with a big question mark. I have no idea where this series is going to go from here, but I'm dying to find out!!
OVERALL: I think this is my favorite book of the year so far because it was so addicting and entertaining. I loved both main characters, I loved that I had NO IDEA what was going to happen and I was on the edge of my seat, and I loved the perfect mix of lightness and darkness. I 100% RECOMMEND!!

CW: agoraphobia, anxiety, depression, violence, catfishing, stalking.
Well that was a nice surprise!
This isn't a complex story but there is enough suspense and mystery to make it enjoyable for its target audience. The author did a good job of building a sense of underlying menace as the story progressed. I liked both the main characters and thought their voices were quite believable. I don't know if this is a good portrayal of agoraphobia but I think Eric's anxiety in public was done well. show more After that cliffhanger ending, I will definitely read the second book and think this will be popular in the high school library I work in. show less

I have been waiting on this sequel for months and it was worth the wait! There quite a bit of twists and turns that made it hard for me to put the book away. First of all, Tessa & Eric's relationship is beautiful, in a way that seems rich and real. Both characters are dealing with anxiety and depression issues that so many people are also facing. The title also shows how social media and pop culture can play into those mental health issues. Mystery aside, this title is very timely as we live show more in a celebrity and social media obsessed world. I was able to related to both characters in this regard. The mystery of the story was awesome. There were some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and made it very hard to stop reading. I actually read this title in a few hours! My only disappointment in this title is that the Blair situation is kind of left in the air. From my understanding, this series is only slated to be duology, so that open-endedness kind of bugs me. I understand that not every story gets wrapped up in a tiny bow at the end of the book, but I was hoping for more Blair in this book. His back story is incomplete and it leaves a few questions unanswered. Questions like 'why did he target Tessa?', Was 'Tessa his first victim?". 'What made him become a stalker?". It would be great if we can get a prequel with Blair's backstory to tie up those loose ends. Nonetheless, I enjoyed both Follow Me Back and Tell Me No Lies, so I'm interested in what Geiger will write next. show less
Tell Me No Lies is the second book of Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger. I’ve loved the first book, I even reviewed voluntarily so go ahead and click this link. But, here, the question is… did I love the second book, Tell Me No Lies? Read along!
I’m really torn, Eric Thorn! Lol, that’s just me trying to up the seriousness of this book. This book has two sides, a fun one and a serious one like the previous release. Would comparing the two books make a bad idea? I hope not because that’s show more what I am going to do.
Both of the books are told in THREE WAYS. A normal novel telling, an investigation dialogues, and a few social media-like posts a.k.a. twitter tweets and snapchat snaps. The books are also told in multiple third person P.O.V. and you cannot tell that it isn’t interesting!
I don’t think I would ever forget the two main characters. I love Eric Thorn but you could already guess that! Tessa Hart is also cute. They just have the chemistry. They “click.” They are not cringe-y at all. ESPECIALLY ON BOOK ONE.
Blair Duncan, on the other hand, must have choked a few times. They say that if you talk about a certain person, like mentioning his name, and that person is not around you, they choke. So be careful in saying someone else’s name or making someone a conversation topic. It’s going to make the person choke, they say. Going back, what Tessa and Eric (mostly Eric) did during investigations was blame everything to Blair. But Blair isn’t all there is. A lot of people with different kind of intentions also exists. He’s not the same Blair he was on book one but still a confused character.
Let’s also talk about the baby… or maybe not! But baby was mentioned in the book and it got me all excited. So I’m here like I WANT THE THIRD BOOK OUT IF THERE WILL BE A THIRD BOOK. Shout that with me because I really have to read the next! Tessa’s unbelievable and Eric’s just so supportive.
I loved the plot, that’s not new. If this is gonna have a third book I’ll be sure to read that. Even for tenth book. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of Eric Thorn and the plots and twists. I think what I liked the most is that, considering that the first book already set high expectations for the second book, Tell Me No Lies is still intriguing.
Final verdict is… I, of course, recommend this book to anyone who wants romance and mystery. Let’s leave a trace and say that #EricThornIsEverything (to me, at least!) show less
