Wet Paint is a traveling art show that captures the palpable tension between the MTA and graffiti writers in New York City. When the authorities clean up subway station graffiti by painting over it, they routinely hang a “Wet Paint” sign. Persue pulled down hundreds of these signs and sent them to artists around the world. Each artist made their sign uniquely beautiful. Since it’s conception as a simple website release, it has been embraced by artists and collectors alike, as a fresh show more approach to a well loved genre. PERSUE and WANE1 co-curate the shows and work together to realize their vision for Wet Paint as a brand and movement.They have brought WET PAINT experiences to collectors all over the world, including New York City, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Miami and Atlanta…
