This book presents an end-to-end process for creating web sites that *persuade*. It deviates from traditional marketing techniques and instead focuses on creating valuable user experiences for visitors. The method relies on personas and scenarios—-cornerstones of user-centered design--so there is overlap with user-centered approaches to site design. This is easy to read and understand, and offers some unique perspectives on persuasion.
Although heady in its promises, this book fails to live up to its word. Analysis of marketing trends and strategies - and, importantly, the public reaction - is decidedly pedestrian. Overall, an acceptable book for developing background, but not a first-choice primary source.
