I never thought I'd be impressed with a game where you play vampires until I saw this. And, while admittedly the prospect of playing blood-sucking fiends still hasn't completely won me over, I definitely like this book.
For one thing much of the art has that sketchy, black and white, thick lined quality that I so enjoy.
Also, the modern setting game "Vampire: the Masquerade" portrays vampires as slick and decadant or punkish and countercultural, which somehow doesn't appeal to me. By contrast show more the "Dark Ages" places these monsters more interestingly in a world that is already harsh and brutal, and in which their beastial appetites seem less out of place.

(Alistair) I live here, and this sure as hell isn't my country that 's being described. Research, over?
