A Magical Reckoning: Five Stories of Supernatural Betrayal (Magic and Mischief Book 1) by N. R. Hairston
This is a collection of delightful stories with a supernatural spin. The first tale was about a skunk hybrid who works in law enforcement. Talk about suspending disbelief. I think each story is better than the last and they were all very enjoyable. But my favorite is Belle of the Ball. Down and out Kerry who made the mistake of befriending the wrong person. Let me just say, this book is a great way to escape into a surreal world.

3.5 stars (rounded up)
An interesting idea, the concept that people in this world have powers and that Chaz's power is actually stealing power from other people to use their abilities. In the moments when they weren't using their powers this read like a regular romance.
As I understand it Clink, the non-POV MC, had previously found his HEA(!?) in another book. I agree with some of the other reviewers. Had I read that book first, I wouldn't have been happy going into this one, and I doubt I show more would have enjoyed it as much.
That said, this book can easily be read as a standalone.

Good, quick read for in-between revising for an exam.
