This is a visually beautiful and quirky book, good for dipping into and learning from both the text and the illustrations. The included sketches inspired me to try things for myself. Credit is given to the translator, Natalia Tizon, and to three sketch artists. It's not clear who wrote the text, which is a shame. Someone or ones should get credit for the helpful writing.

I bought this book because I love the title. The whole notion of "crochet school" captivates me, and I sometimes wish I could live my life over at a Hogwarts sort of academy for crochet instead of magic. (Of course, I think crochet is magic).

In addition to the title, the book has much to recommend itself. It is a wonderful introduction to crochet, and has clear instructions and easy to interpret pictures.

Ok- this book is exactly what it sounds like. It doesn't contain any garment patterns or technique instructions. It is simply a giant book containing pages and pages of stitch patterns: cables, textured stitches like berry-in-a-box or herringbone, lace stitches or colorwork stitches, such as tweeds. Each stitch has a color photograph of a sample, and the stitch patterns are (so far) extremely accurate. The variety is exceptional, ranging from subtle to exceptionally complex. It doesn't teach show more you how to adapt the patterns for shaping, but this sort of resource never does, in my experience.

This book is beautiful and inspiring for both the novice and advanced sketcher. Originally published in Spain and translated. Using various media, the chapters are in depth technique with visually stunning examples from human figures to urban landscapes.
