An Appendix lists all the recitals that HvB gave during his lifetime, listing the individual pieces, and this occupies about half the volume. The main text refers to most of these, not leaving much room for the subject's private life.

I feel that this is a text for specialists, or the very comitted.
I have not read Alan Watkin's biography, but the review on this site suggests that his book has more about the man than this comprehensive collection of contemporary opinion about HvB the musician.
