Matt Bellassai

I enjoyed the "Wine About It" videos enough that I knew I had to check this book out the second that I saw the cover. This book is not quite as funny as the videos, but it is still quite funny. In particular, I had to read a lot of the stories about spending summer vacations at some random lake in Michigan to my husband (who grew up mostly in Michigan). The book straddles a weird line between memoir and comedy writing -- working much better as the latter than the former. There are a lot of show more life choices on display that feel woefully unexamined that make me want to say "Oh, sweetie," while shaking my head and taking Bellassai under my wing.

This is laugh out loud funny, and it made me a little jealous. I'm also a chubby hermit. I have no trouble getting drunk and saying what is on my mind. Where's my internet fame?

Nobody makes me cry from laughing on a train like Matt does.
