I loved this book. It was not only a winning page-turner of a detective novel, it gave a very realistic look at life with an Autistic person. I was enthralled by the tidbits and insights dropped by Roper as he discovered the truth in his own unique way, and loved the descrip[tions of what made him "tick".
Jonathan Rober is autistic and thus a brilliant detective, hmm. More interesting to me was how the people around him react to his difference, so that made the book worth reading for me. The plot itself is possibly a bit far fetched, esp for the first in a series, dealing with cancer cures and the crimes that would come out of having such thing at your fingertips.
The blurb of this book sounds really awesome and that's why I requested this ARC from StoryCartel.

I loved the idea of a lead character who wasn't perfect. And I loved Jonathan Roper. His character was intriguing, he made me laugh at times with his bluntness, and to be absolutely honest, he was adorable.

Jonathan Roper and Brian Hooley were my favorites from the novel.

Though the novel itself, I found a bit lacking. I had to struggle through it a lot. I try to not give up on a book, and that's show more why I tried my best and finished reading this book.

I must admit the ending was really good, but there were many chapters where o was so confused I had no idea what was happening. At times, the conversations between characters got so technical that they were hard to understand.

Despite that, I did finish it because quite frankly, I wanted to know what happens next and also if my guess about the killer was correct. And it was.

So yes, even though it wasn't an easy read, I had fun reading it (half of the time) and I'm happy that I made it to the end.

Jonathan Roper is now working at GCHQ analysing intelligent for patterns. But all is not going well so DCI Brian Hooley is set to help as he is one of the few people he trusts. Meanwhile his old team back at Scotland Yard headed by Julie Mayweather is investigating a serial killer.
An enjoyable and interesting mystery, another in this series
