This is a short summarization of the healthy living nonfiction book, How Not to Die. It contains the basic facts and need-to-know info from the book, without lengthy explanations or overwhelming scientific jargon, and it gets across the point of a 576 page book very nicely in only 40 pages. This was a quick read, and surprisingly it was quite informative, to the point of recommending different foods and herbs for different disorders and sometimes even giving the suggested dosage. It is a show more stand-alone book, and does not need to be read alongside Dr. Michael Greger's How Not to Die, although for those interested in reading the complete book it contains a link to buy it.
The basis of both books is that by living a healthy lifestyle, eating a proper diet, exercising regularly, and staying away from doctors as much as possible, you can live a longer and more fulfilling life. Each chapter is dedicated to a different common "killer", including heart disease, cancers, brain diseases, infections, High Blood Pressure, diabetes, suicidal depression, Parkinson's, kidney disease, and many more. Each chapter discusses what causes the disease, how to avoid it, and how to prevent and possibly cure it.
I liked a lot of what I read in this book... however, I have two problems with it that knock my rating down a star. I disagreed with Dr. Greger's pro-vaccination and anti-animal products views. As one respected nutrition writer once said of this book, "Greger cherry-picked scientific studies to support his main thesis, and thus understated the beneficial effects of moderate meat and seafood consumption." However, because I learned useful information from this book and agree with the majority of it, I would still give this book four stars. show less

Summary of The 5 Second Rule: Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage by Mel Robbins by Concise Reading
This Concise Reading summary does what it says: when in doubt, stressed out or anxious, count backwards from 5 when you need to make a decision to alleviate procrastination which is the 5 second rule. The actual book was in need of editing as the testimonials were excessive in number and repetitive. This summary gives you the core information without the "filler to write a book" with excellent questions at the end to make you review and reflect.

Summary of How Not To Die: Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse Disease By Michael Greger MD by Concise Reading
Excellent! I love the summary. It was objective and kept the author’s tone and intent. More detailed than other summaries I read, it convinced me that their was no new knowledge I would gain by purchasing this book and that I could easily acquire recipes of this type for free without investing in the campanion cookbook.
I liked the summary and thought it was well written. I loved the concept of summarizing best sellers as it helps readers decide if the book appeals. I love the whole idea of Project Inspiration and a portion of the proceeds of book sales supporting its goals. Finally, it helped me decide that there is no new information for me in this best seller and it would not be worth my investing in it.
