This story was lovely. Clarkson did a good job with the rhymes, however there is no real cadence. Or if a cadence starts to happen, it changes with the next page. Overall I liked the story and loved the illustrations, but would not choose it as a storytime read for the tongue trouble I would have as I tripped over lines.

I question how much help Kelly Clarkson had on this book. One it does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. Except for the lullaby. The lullaby sounds like Kelly Clarkson. This book has a decent cadence and rhymes well, but it does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. I especially say this because of how big they’ve written Grammy award winning artist on the cover and how her biography lists all of her accolades in the music business. It almost feels like the publishers trying to convince us that Kelly show more wrote this 100% on her own. I don’t think so. It does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. I love Kelly. I love to listen to her sing, and while this book is fine I’m not sure it would is something that would be published or be on the shelves if it didn’t have Kelly Clarkson‘s name attached to it. show less
This is a great story of a child's magical journey to the North Pole where she has adventures with the elves in Santa's workshop. Not only is the story a great book to get kids more excited for Christmas but it also conveys the message of the importance of being thankful.
River Rose can't go to sleep, so her mother sings a beautiful lullaby to help her sleep. River Rose dreams about a special day at the zoo.
