Hu? Wait, what??? šŸ˜‚
"How twisted do you like your fairy tales?
A half-woman, half-cockroach fused in a bizarre gardening accident? That would be Mrs Jittery Twitch, dwelling in the shadows of our misdeeds. If in danger, you can call upon her help… all she asks is your soul as payment. But she’s just a legend, so no need to worry.
Barry Harris is a 28-year-old man, still living with his dear old mum in a little flat above a hairdresser. His obsession with Star Trek and the martial arts show more won’t help him when he’s forced out on a date.
And nobody knows about the weird string of events that’s about to put everyone’s lives in danger. A trio of samurai warriors and the strangest offer of help lead Barry on a perilous mission to save the day.
(This book is the second in the Prophecy Allocation series but works fine as a standalone read.)"
This has got to be one of the weirdest and most random books I have ever read. In fact I'm still a little fuzzy on what it is I just read exactly. LOL
The writing was not bad. In fact the author comes through as very light-hearted and laid back. It is very easy to continue reading the book simply for that fact alone.
The dark humor was definitely up my alley and the author got a few chuckles out of me. So good on you Nicky! šŸ‘šŸ»
There is a lot of cussing and swearing in this book but I don't really mind. I swear like a sailor myself so... yeah LOL šŸ˜‹
There's also a lot of action and violence in this book but again I don't really mind because I'm a horror fanatic and those things do not bug me. But they may bother other readers.
While reading this book I constantly was looking back on it thinking "Wasn't this a Family Guy episode?" as the two seem to be cut from the same cloth. Very dark humor but also having nerd fandom and fantasy/sci-fi elements intermingled.
I wouldn't say that I really enjoyed this book but then again I didn't hate it either. I know, I honestly feel a little confused myself. My thoughts are that this is one of those books that people will either really like or they really won't like. Either way however, they will have to just read the book and figure that out for themselves with this one.
I would recommend this book to people who like dark adult comedy mixed with sci-fi and fantasy.

"The best ninja has no smell, leaves no name, and makes everyone wonder if he ever existed (Master Tanba) Barry Harris works as a gardener, he lives in a cramped one bedroom flat above a shop and shares the flat with his mother therefore he sleeps on a pull out sofa. His sister disappeared 25 years ago and then his father went out to find her and never returned. Barry his half Japanese and his father trained him in the ways of the Ninja and this is a code Barry lives by even in southern show more England. Then one ordinary day he meets Terry the Hedge, apparently a spirit who lives in a hedge and who has a mission for Barry. Trying to complete his gardening work and the ninja task set by Terry leads Barry through a vortex where he is sent hundreds of years into the past to rescue his father who is a master ninja and trapped by Samurai.
If, in the process of reading each chapter you don't laugh out loud, or stifle your laughter due to being in a public place or at work, then you are in dire need of a funny bone transplant. A delightful romp in the English humour fashion of "They came and Ate Us" or "Dirk Gentley's Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul" I met him you know - Douglas Adams - I have a signed promotional cut out for Long Dar Tea Time of the Soul. Therefore, If I compare Blue to Adams, then you know he is on his way as a comedic writer.

Be careful who you betray!

This short read was packed with all the psychological goodness as we are dropped into a night in the light of Graham. His marriage to his wife Cressida isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and he’s got the feeling something is wrong. When he discovers that his suspicions were spot on, he takes revenge the best way he knows how.

Even though this is a short piece, I though the character development was very well done. I really felt for Graham and I laughed out loud show more about the way he’s treated by Cressida’s poodle, Mr. Darcy. Very realistic writing.

Highly recommended for fans of psychological reads!

**** SPOILER ALERT ****
Blue delivers an entertaining and twist filled tale in "Numan Vs. Numan".
The author does a fine job of superb world building and and character development.
This book strongly reminded me quite a bit of Douglas Adams' work. I would recommend this books to my fellow readers.
I find it hilarious that the main protagonist wants desperately to be a rock star, while suffering from social anxiety.
In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am show more voluntarily sharing this review.
It is my own honest opinion
