Kharkiv photographer Roman Pyatkovka's Apartment 20 features pictures that were taken in the Soviet and post-Soviet period: from the eighties to the nineties. The edition is an attempt to comprehend this period through the concepts corporeality and sexuality; and to tell about it by the means of visual art. The book explores the relationship of the old Soviet imagery as compared to contemporary avant-garde photography over the past 10 years. In this book the author's photographs are used as pieces of a puzzle — in order to combine them into a unified picture of feminine weakness, sexuality, and irony expressed in terms of a collective body.
