The Gaelic Otherworld: John Gregorson Campbell's Superstitions Of The Highlands And Islands Of Scotland And Witchcr by Ronald Black
Wonderful compilation of two works of Scottish folklore from the early 20th century. This book makes a wonderful companion to Alexander Carmichael's "Carmina Gadelica" as the "Carmina Gadelica" has the old chants and prayers and "The Gaelic Otherworld" has how and why to they were used.
Currently (March 2011) the best book available for learners of Scottish Gaelic. Originated many years ago as lecture notes for a course the author was teaching at the University of Edinburgh, and has been extensively revised with much material added since the first version.
fondly known as "the big red scary book;" I love it!
