Having run out of books to read in Whitby I passed a bookshop window and saw a book called "Secrets of a Whitby Girl" by Jessica Blair, and it seemed too much of a daft coincidence not to check it out. It turned out to be only in hard back, so I picked out another of her books which was a bit cheaper, and it kept me amused for a couple of days. More historical romance, with a sea-faring and merchant flavour to it. Rivalry and bitterness, plus a bit of adventure. I felt it was all tied show more together a bit too neatly and quickly towards the end of the book, and got a nagging suspicion some of the characters may have their own stories to tell in other books, but overall it was an entertaining enough bit of nonsense. show less
