A very enjoyable collection. As with any short story collection there's inevitably one or two that don't appeal and for me it was Lucky Colour and The Wedding. I loved Keeping Up Appearances, Woody's Mabs and The Demented, I also found 100 Words very clever. Such a good mix of long and short - Roast Lamb and Mint Sauce was a lovely story for its length. I felt they were well-written and each very different in style with interesting characters. I liked how each story felt like it could've show more been a different writer and by this I mean that John Foster seemed to have the ability to change his writing to match the narrator. I'd like to take a look at the author's poetry for children and possible take a peep at The Creep which sounds fab. Overall then - great characters, good plot, excellent scenarios for short stories. show less
